JLR unveiled the electric Jaguar Type 01 in New York on October 7, 2026. The company describes the four-door GT as its most powerful and aerodynamic Jaguar yet, with production scheduled for 2027.
The car uses the dedicated Jaguar Electric Architecture. Final assembly will take place in Solihull, supported by electric drive units and battery packs from Wolverhampton. Halewood in Merseyside will supply pressed body panels.
An 850-volt system and a battery with 118 kWh of usable capacity underpin an estimated EPA range of up to 400 miles. JLR says a 350 kW DC charger could add energy for 200 miles of driving in 13 minutes.
Output reaches 1,030 PS and 1,365 Nm, with an estimated acceleration time of 3.2 seconds from zero to 100 km/h. The manufacturer stresses that these figures remain subject to homologation. Actual range and charging performance will depend on operating conditions.
Orders are expected to open in early 2027, with UK prices starting at £130,000. Almost 9,000 employees at Solihull have already received training to build electric vehicles.
