VinFast plans to enter the US electric bus market with an offer that extends beyond supplying the vehicles. The company’s proposed package would also cover charging infrastructure, maintenance and operational support.
The approach could give fleet operators a single provider for several of the systems needed to run battery-electric buses. Rather than treating the vehicle purchase as a standalone transaction, VinFast is presenting a broader service model for bus deployment.
According to a report by Electrek, deliveries of buses approved for use in the United States are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028.
For operators in Lithuania and elsewhere considering electric fleets, the proposal underlines a practical reality of bus electrification: vehicles, charging and day-to-day servicing must be planned together. The US plans remain focused on a future market launch, with the first deliveries still expected in 2028.
